The Cupertino campus was first announced in 2011 by Steve Jobs himself. The plans now include solar panels that will generate about 75 percent of the facility's energy needs and an underground car garage for 11,000 cars, with 300 car charging stations.
The Apple mini-city will also include an underground auditorium, a garden, a pond, outdoor dining and a massive fitness center.
Apple employees are expected to move in by early 2017.
