Authorities are trying to establish whether the chauffeur passed on information to the gang, whose ages ranged from 23 to 72 and included several known for prior robberies and other crimes. The police have 96 hours to decide whether to charge the arrested people.
The gangsters also used nicknames such as "Omar le vieux" (Omar the old) or "Mimi la boule" (Mimi the ball) which sort of recalls gangster movies of the '50s, according to RTL.
Kardashian West was held at gunpoint and robbed of more than $10 million in jewelry at her hotel while in Paris for fashion week in October.
After learning of the arrests, Jean Veil, the French lawyer for Kardashian West, described the news as "a great satisfaction."
"These arrests are a nice surprise because we might be able to find the jewels," he told the French magazine L'Expresson Monday.
