India's biggest film just got a whole lot bigger.
Baahubali: The Conclusionwhich hit screens — 9,000 of them worldwide — is India's highest-grossing film of all time within a week of its release. Unsurprisingly.

And it's playing to packed halls even on weekdays.
The film is being distributed by Dharma Productions, one of India's top studios, helmed by high-profile Bollywood personality Karan Johar and he's elated with Baahubali's dream run.

Incidentally, the producers pocketed $75 million from the sale of theatrical and satellite rights much before the release.

India's premier movie ticketing website BookMyShow announced that it sold a record 3.3 million tickets for Baahubali 2or 12 tickets every second a day prior to the release.
On Paytm Movies, part of India's largest mobile wallet firm Paytm, Baahubali 2has emerged as the biggest grossing film ever.
"With early sales showing an upward trend, Paytm has experienced an eight times surge in overall traffic in the film’s opening week and accounted for more than 30% market share to the Hindi version’s opening weekend," the company said in a statement.
In the U.A.E, Indian film industry’s second biggest overseas market, advance bookings have clocked 120,000 admissions on the opening day, according to Gulf News. This is unprecedented, a local distributor was quoted as saying.
In the U.S too, Baahubali 2continues to scale new heights.

These might be small numbers compared to giant Hollywood releases, but for an Indian film these are unprecedented figures. And that explains the hysteria around Baahubali.
It is a truly global phenomenon now. It also has a spin-off animation series, Baahubali: The Lost Legends, which launched last month on Amazon Prime Video worldwide.
