Emily went to Paris and Twitter users went into full-blown meme-making mode.
Since Netflix released the first season of Emily in Parison Oct. 2, people have been sharing all sorts of takes, reviews, and memes about the show online.
The consensus seems to be that the 10 episodes — brought to us by Darren Star, the man who created Sex and the City and Younger— are ultimately NOT great. Sure, the show is a perfect form of escapism, but Emily (Lily Collins) doesn't understand the first thing about social media, the plot lines are ridiculously farfetched, and some French people believe the show presents a warped, cliché, and stereotypical view of Paris.

The show has become a Grade-A hate-binge, and is being described by viewers as so impossibly bad and basic that it's actually kind of good — a description that's usually reserved for explaining the allure of terrible Hallmark Christmas movies. You can't help but love it.
While people continue to sort out their Emily in Parisemotions, it's worth noting that the show is inspiring some high-quality memes. Several viewers have taken the opportunity to demand justice for Emily Charlton, the character in The Devil Wears Prada(played by Emily Blunt) who had to miss out on a trip to Paris because she got hit by a car. But others are just poking fun at the show's plot in general.
Here are a few of our favorite Emily in Parismemes from people who clearly understand social media better than Emily herself.
