Hello and welcome to an odd alternate reality.

WikiLeaks, an online bastion of government leaks, sent out a tweet early Friday decrying a bit of leaked information.

The irony was just too rich.

WikiLeaks defended themselves by saying the information leaked by the government to NBC -- the official report on Russian election hacking that authorities were scheduled to give to Trump Friday -- doesn't qualify as a leak.

WikiLeaks may have a point about political advantage, but it's hard to see how this is "not a leak." Besides, WikiLeaks has also been accused of leaking information for political advantage, as it spent a huge amount of effort on anti-Clinton leaks during the presidential campaign.

And now, the pro-Donald Trump aspects of the group's thinking are even clearer. They lament Trump not seeing information before the public. They tweet about Trump's tweets. They even tweet about what Trump said to media outlets.

And when their motives are questioned, it's hard to see their response as anything but anti-transparency.

What a turnaround, eh?
