Elden Ring, released Friday, is the long-awaited open world fantasy game that sees Game of Thronescreator George R. R. Martin joining the developers behind the Dark Soulsfranchise. You play one of the 'Tarnished' in the realm of The Lands Between, ruled by a formidable monarch known as Queen Marika the Eternal. It's taken experienced reviewers up to 87 hours to beat the game, so a day off ahead of the weekend is most welcome for these extremely serious Elden Ringfans who'll apparently refuse to focus if made to show up to work. Pocket Pair's own president even posted a photo of his enthusiastic self celebrating the coming release.

Elden Ring is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One.
